Payment Policy & Fees

Payment is expected at the time counseling services are rendered. Please be aware that with any health plans, there may be deductibles and co-payments for which you could be responsible. The amount you pay per therapy session depends on if you will be utilizing your Health Insurance carrier or paying out-of-pocket. If you choose to use your Health Insurance, we will bill the Insurance carrier as either an In-network or Out-of-network provider.

In-Network

I am an In-Network Provider for:

Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield

This means that if you have this insurance carrier then you will pay your co-pay, coinsurance or deductible at the start of the session.

Once I receive your insurance plan member number I can find out how many sessions your health plan allows and how much your portion will be.

questions about your bill
Out-of-Network

I am an Out-of-Network Provider for all insurance carriers.

As an out-of-network provider, you pay the session fee upfront, and I will provide you with a form (called a superbill) that you submit to your Insurance company to instruct them to send reimbursement directly to you. As a courtesy to new clients I will walk you through this process and answer any questions you may have along the way.

The cost for this varies depending on individual health plans but could range from $30 - $80 net per therapy session. Please contact me for information on session rates.

What billing or insurance information will I receive?

Monthly via email you will receive a statement and/or an invoice for services rendered.

How long will it take to get things settled with the insurance company?

Generally, it takes from 10 to 30 days to obtain payment from an insurance carrier.

I received a notice that my insurance company has paid on my bill -- but I can't understand how they calculated their payment amount. Do you know?

If I have received any such information from your insurance company, I will be glad to share it with you. However, for answers to any questions about insurance payments, deductibles, or co-payments, you generally need to check with your insurance company.
